• Question: cant you change the pathogens DNA so that it 'helps the organism' or fight 'himself'

        There are drugs which activate apoptosis genes. These make the bacteria kill themselves. Bacteriophages can be programmed to kill bacteria by infecting them.
        I don’t know if bacterial genes can be affected directly to help or hinder the organism, but it’s not my field.
