• Question: In your honest opinion, do you think that global warming is solvable? Or are we going for permanent climate change here ( As in can we get the ice caps back and save the biom or should we start making an exhibit in the extinct section) just wondering.

      Hi zara.banana!

      I don’t think global warming is solvable really in that I don’t think we can reverse it. I think we’ve done so much damage already that all we can do is try not to make things any worse. I’m not ecoscientist but it seems to be that not everything can be undone.

      All we can do now is sort out worldwide agreements on emissions etc and hope that everyone realises that it’s a huge threat to the planet.

      I think it’s pretty much damage limitation from here out. Although, I did read an interesting thing on BBC news about carbon capture and storage CCS. Could be an interesting way of reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, but it’s still along way away from being in large scale use!

      As Lindsay said, I also don’t think it’s a reversible problem – we can only try to make it less “catastrophic” and stop doing what we already know it’s causing damage and making Nature mad!

      Sadly, I agree–I think it’s irreversible at this point, but we should still try to lessen further damage.
